About Us

The interventional radiology experts at Florida Endovascular and Interventional perform minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to treat a wide variety of medical problems.

These same-day, outpatient surgical procedures offer high-quality, low-complication alternatives to open surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and hospitalization. Interventional radiology offers patients advantages such as less post-op pain, a faster recovery, and little to no scarring.

The treatments we offer at Florida Endovascular and Interventional are conducted in our fully equipped, office-based surgery suites. We also have on-site vascular labs and vascular ultrasound for the convenience of our patients.

Florida Endovascular and Interventional was founded by Dr. Curtis Anderson in 2016 in Miami Lakes. Today, the practice has expanded to three locations in Broward County and Miami-Dade County: Miami Lakes, Plantation, and Aventura.

What Is Interventional Radiology?

Many people are familiar with “radiology” in terms of the medical imaging equipment – such as X-rays, CAT scans, MRIs, and ultrasound – used to diagnose medical issues. Interventional radiology, then, is the use of medical imaging equipment to guide treatments for certain diseases or conditions.

What is most unique and beneficial about interventional radiology is the fact that it utilizes the least invasive techniques available. The target area is accessed – and a surgical procedure carried out – entirely through a patient’s blood vessels and a tiny, precise incision in the skin. Because many of these procedures begin with simply a needle through the skin, you may leave our facility requiring a dressing no more serious than a Band-Aid.

Interventional radiology has been around since the 1960s – and the future is bright for this medical specialty. Evolving technological advances are expected to allow an increasing number of conditions to be treated in this minimally invasive, image-guided manner. Areas of the body currently treated with interventional radiology include the abdomen, chest, cardiovascular system, central nervous system, musculoskeletal system, and more. In fact, you may be surprised at the vast number of conditions interventional radiology is able to address today.
